Tina and Tim - A Royal Fusion Wedding
It was nearly 2 years in the making when the parents of the groom, Robert and Joanne Fallon and this gorgeous Bride, Tina (Udhwani at the time) reached out to Mint To Be Events to help plan a royal two day wedding at the prestigious Taj Boston. Please feel free to browse through the images, but first a quick 1 minute teaser video from our friends at Fern & Feather.
Part of the challenge for them was understanding the intricacies and dynamic of the Indian wedding and culture. The goal was to make it elegant, luxurious, but colorful, festive and fun, just like what an Indian wedding is described as. What we learned in the process of planning this event is to help build in flexibility, because Indian weddings require it. And once we conveyed how to be flexible, oh what a party it was.
The sangeet night was held on the Taj Rooftop. Every element of the sangeet was customized. From the table settings set by Peak Event services, the Indian elements by Alankar Decor, the florals by Winston Flowers, to the 800ft Bistro lights setup by Boston Sound and Light Company (who also provided uplighting, entertainment, dhol services and audio visual).
It wouldn't be an Indian sangeet if there aren't any Bollywood dance sequences involved.
Even the bride had a surprise performance for her family and friends.
Check out the amazing lighting, both in the bistro lighting and uplighting by Boston Sound and Light Company. And of course check out the party that ensued.
The following day, Tina and Tim snuck away to the Boston Commons to get their pre-wedding pictures done.
And then with the help of Boston Police, for the first time in the history of weddings at the Taj Hotel, we managed the shut down of Commonwealth Ave to conduct the groom's procession, called the baraat.
The father of the groom presented cymbals and dupattas for all his guests as they chimed their way through the baraat.
The wedding mandap was custom built by Winston Flowers in a trendy but traditional way.
Both Indian and American elements were present in this fusion wedding.
Once the ceremony complete, guests were ushered to the foyer space where Phil Scarf from Natraj music provided an element of Jazz and Shenai fusion. And then soon after the guests returned back into the ballroom for the reception.
What an amazing weekend! What an amazing couple!
